A P5 Media Management and Storage License (MMSL) is an expansion license for P5 Backup and P5 Archive (P5 Backup2Go and P5 Synchronize do not need MMSL). MMSL can be employed in three ways:1. It can be assigned to a slot of a tape library.2. It can be used to store up to 8TB of data on disk.3. It can be used to store up to 8TB of data in the cloud.

Consequently, when multiple MMSL are available, these can be assigned to any number of tape libraries and used in any combination of tape slots, disk volumes and cloud storage.

Example: The bundle P5 Archive Edition comes with 25 units of MMSL.

12 units can be assigned to a tape library and 6 units can be used to store up to 48TB of data on disks and 7 units can be used to store up to 56TB of data in the cloud.

Data that has been backed up or archived to the cloud can be kept as local copy on disk. For this copy no additional MMSL are required.
