Gerald Hochwimmer passed away on Friday. For those unfamiliar with him, he founded Ubertec in his garage back in 1994. Since then, it has evolved into the family business it is today. You might recall Gerald selling Macs from Karaka Street or 86 Parnell Road. Over the past decade or so, he’s ventured into various other endeavours, selling a wide range of products through Netropolitan.

Gerald truly enjoyed finding deals and engaging with customers. He was often described as “quite the character”.

Ubertec will be closing for a half-day on Wednesday afternoon at 11:30 am to celebrate Gerald’s life. If you’d like to join us, please do.
